Health, Wellbeing and Wholeness
My name is Kelly and I am a fully qualified reflexologist based in Ickenham, but seeing clients from the wider surrounding areas of Uxbridge, Ruislip, Hillingdon, Harefield, Eastcote, Northwood, Rickmansworth, Chalfont St. Peter, Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield. I offer mobile services and treat clients in the comfort of their homes.
I became interested in reflexology around 25 years ago whilst working as a nurse and studying for a Masters Degree in Pain Management. On a complementary therapies weekend as part of the course, I had some reflexology and was hooked. I continued to work as a Clinical Nurse specialist in acute and chronic pain management for a number of years, but eventually listened to the nagging in my head and trained in reflexology at a college in Gerrards Cross, West London. I've been fully qualified and working as a reflexologist for 17 years now.
I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists and I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the UK's voluntary regulator for complementary therapists.
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy originating from ancient Egypt, India and China. Its practice developed into what we use today from the 1900s. The principle theory behind reflexology is that the body is reflected in your feet (and also hands, face and ears). By massaging or applying pressure to specific areas of the feet, areas of the body are influenced.
For most people, reflexology creates an overall feeling of wellbeing. It is a relaxing, yet revitalising experience and is helpful at any age or stage of life. In my experience, reflexology can help with issues such as stress and tension, problems sleeping, sinus congestion, IBS, constipation, back pain, muscular aches, frozen shoulder, joint pains, hormonal symptoms related to the menstrual cycle at any stage, headaches... the list goes on.
Reflexology works for you on the level you wish or need it to work. My belief is that the mind and emotions influence the body and that the body influences the mind and emotions.
It may be that you choose reflexology to help with a muscular ache from a frozen shoulder; perhaps you feel your hormones need balancing; you would like some help with sleep patterns or anxiety or perhaps you would like an hour of relaxation. However, if you are interested in working at a deeper level, my belief is that reflexology can also help you reflect on patterns of behaviour and thinking. It can help you work towards recognising the true you, to ground and live more authentically.
You can use the sessions as you wish.
From my experience as a nurse and reflexologist and my interest and belief that we can help ourselves to be healthy, I will provide an individualised treatment that may include aromatherapy oils, reflexology lymph drainage techniques, vertical reflex therapy, crystals and so on and also a combination of stretches, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, visualisatons, advice on food and exercise and lifestyle and point the way to easily accessible resources, guiding the way and supporting you with any changes you wish to make.
I am qualified in foot reflexology, reflexology for fertility and pregnancy, reflexology with aromatherapy oils, vertical reflexology, intuitive reflexology, reflexology lymph drainage, crystal reflexology and musculoskeletal reflexology.
I am mum to 3 boys and am also a wife, a daughter and a sister. A few of the challenges I've faced include dealing with issues around neurodiversity, a feeling of needing to fit in and always worrying what others are thinking, as well as feeling like I needed to manage everything perfectly and without a struggle. I've spent the last few years exploring why I felt like this, finding myself and learning how to be more true to myself. I now find that I am more confident, grounded and calmer as I have found some peace of mind and direction through discovering my innate/natural power.
I draw my energy through being in nature, barefoot walking, practicing yoga, finding connection with people and through my spiritual life. Some of my interests include gardening, growing my own food, being outside, the natural world, wild swimming (or really just dipping), long walks, cooking for my family, reading all sorts of books and listening to podcasts.
